I’ve worked in a number of roles focused on building up a brand’s presence on various social media platforms and with the community at large, both online and in person. Take a minute to take a look.
I manage the station's Facebook and Twitter accounts daily during the morning hours. I create social copy for both serious, breaking news stories as well as fun and lighthearted topics. I design social graphics for the different channels regularly. At the beginning of the pandemic, I created a Facebook group to help uplift our audience's spirits with positive news. Now, at more than 1,500 members, our morning show continues to run a daily segment featuring much of that user-generated content that is regularly posted within the community.
I currently work as a digital content producer at Channel 10. In this role, I create and manage content for the station's social media platforms, with a particular focus on Instagram. I worked with the Kinder Institute on Constitutional Democracy to develop their social presence. By identifying its unique needs, its social media and outreach weaknesses and its long-term goals, I developed a comprehensive campaign to create digital content and events to increase its engagement using a monthly content creation calendar, particularly for their Instagram account.
I wrote and produced weekly Snapchat stories for two Raycom stations, WFIE and WAVE, to cover the Indiana Senate primary. Our target audience was first-time voters aged 18-24. Our goal was to reach a younger audience and share political stories tailored to them. View some of them at the link below.
The Columbia Missourian is a daily newspaper that covers the city of Columbia and Boone County, Missouri. The paper prints 6,000 copies daily and had 2.4 million unique online visitors in 2016 with 7 million total page views. As a member of the team, I used Social News Desk, Parse.ly, Tweetdeck, Google Analytics and Drive, along with other tools, and worked three social, outreach and beat shifts each week.
I worked with the team at KBIA (an NPR member station) to create Facebook and Twitter videos in an audiogram format and wrote social posts for the platforms to promote the station's content and events.
As a part of the social media content production team, I created social media promo videos, teasers and behind-the-scenes explainers.
